大学にて木彫表現を始め、木彫技術と文化的背景への知見を深めるべく
大学院では仏像の保存修復分野に学び、博士号を取得。
その後、加賀市山中で挽物轆轤の技術を修める。
現在は寺院の仏像制作や修復にたずさわりながら、
暮らしを通して出会う、小さな存在への眼差しを大切に木を彫っている。

Shino Nakamura studied sculpture at an art university and received a PhD in the field of sculpture conservation and restoration.
After that, I learned the technique of woodworking lathes in the mountains of Ishikawa prefecture.
She is currently working on the restoration of the Buddha statue in the temple.
And she makes sculptures based on her eyes on the small beings she encounters in her life.
